Praises AMSOIL!

LNG
Publishing Company, Inc.
In the March 2003 issue of
Lubes 'n' Greases,
Automotive Editor David McFall wrote an
in-depth article on the subject of extended oil drain intervals and
touted AMSOIL as a safe, cost-effective and environmentally preferred
choice. He praised AMSOIL for their commitment to excellence and labeled
AMSOIL "unshackled"
for never conforming to industry norms and standards.

Pennzoil, Quaker State, Castrol and more!

AMSOIL 10W-30 Motor Oil and ten
competing oils were subjected to a series of tests. AMSOIL
outperformed all the competitors in nearly every test! See the

Fortified With Moly
AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Greases (GH Series) are lithium complex extreme pressure greases
formulated for high-load/low-speed applications. They are fortified with
molybdenum (moly) to provide an extra measure of protection in shock-loading
situations common in both construction and agricultural use. AMSOIL
Heavy-Duty Greases meet the highest grease performance standards
of the National Lubricating Grease Institute (NLGI), GC for
wheel bearing applications and LB for chassis applications.
-
Moly-fortified for added extreme pressure protection
-
Formulated for high-load/low-speed applications
-
Prevents squeeze out during operation -
High dropping point (exceeds
500ºF)
-
Oxidation and corrosion
inhibited
-
Excellent resistance to water washout
-
Eliminates the need for separate greases
-
NLGI #1 and NLGI #2 rated

Simplifies Inventories and Prevents Errors
The combination of synthetic base oils and lithium complex thickeners
in AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Greases excel in high- and low-temperature
ranges. AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Greases are
outstanding at reducing friction and helps systems run cooler
and more efficiently in high temperatures than they can with
conventional greases. In low temperatures, AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Greases pump easily and offer dependable cold-temperature protection and good low-temperature torque values.
Their broad operating range of temperatures reduces grease
inventories by replacing separate high- and low-temperature
greases and prevents greasing errors.
Fortified with Moly
AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Greases are compounded with
highly effective extreme pressure additives that form a shield
of protection against extreme loads. The addition of molybdenum
disulfide (moly), a solid extreme pressure additive, armors
components by taking the brunt of excessive loads so lubricated
surfaces don't. During heavy shock loading, the lubricant film
between metal surfaces can be temporarily ruptured, but the moly
remains intact to prevent metal-to-metal contact. Moly also
assists in dirty environments when proper regreasing intervals
are not followed.
Resists Squeeze Out/Water Washout
Top-performing lithium complex thickeners found in AMSOIL
Synthetic Heavy-Duty Greases provide excellent adhesion
properties. AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Greases adhere to metal
and are shear stable during severe mechanical activity. They
resist squeeze out during operation, maintain their consistency
and provide superior lubrication.
These adhesion properties also provide outstanding
resistance to water washout, as identified by the ASTM D-1264
water washout test. A protective film of lubricant stays in
place -- to protect against wear and allow rust and corrosion
inhibitors to protect against the damaging affects of water.
With AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Greases, performance is
improved, wear rates are reduced and equipment lasts longer.
Extended Service Life/Long Shelf Life
AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Greases are suitable for use up
to 325°F in continuous operation and 350°F for intermittent service.
(When operating at elevated temperatures, frequent regreasing
may be required.) AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Greases resist
oxidation, high-temperature degradation and additive depletion
so effectively, they may be used for longer service intervals
than conventional greases. AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Greases also resist oil separation and offer a long
shelf life.
Compatibility
AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Greases are
compatible with many other types of grease.
However, it is recommended that when changing
greases the equipment be cleaned of the old
grease when possible or flushed with a liberal
amount of AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Grease while the
mechanism is in operation. Closely monitor the
system for any inconsistencies. Any grease-compatibility questions should be referred to your
AMSOIL representative or AMSOIL, Inc.
Applications
AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Greases are recommended for use
in heavy- and light-duty applications found in manufacturing
plants, automotive applications, agricultural equipment and
construction equipment (consistency grade depends on
application). These include, but are not limited to, roller
bearings, plain bearings, gears, bushings, thrust bearings,
wheel bearings, chassis lubrication, universal joints, ball
joints, tie-rod ends, four-wheel drive steering knuckles, spring
shackles and heavily loaded pivot pins on mining and off-road
equipment such as power shovels, draglines, wheel and back hoe
loaders, excavators and bulldozers.
The AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Grease Series (NLGI #1 and
NLGI #2 grades) contain the same viscosity base oils and
additives, but contain different amounts of thickener:
-
AMSOIL Synthetic
Heavy-Duty Grease NLGI #1 contains less
thickener than AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy-Duty Grease NLGI #2,
making it ideal for cold-weather applications
-
AMSOIL Synthetic
Heavy-Duty Grease NLGI #2 is
recommended for medium- to high-ambient temperatures. Yet,
because it is a synthetic lithium complex grease, AMSOIL
Synthetic Heavy- Duty Grease NLGI #1 is also excellent for
use in high-temperature applications
