Prevents Diesel Fuel Gelling in Winter Weather for More Reliable Cold Starts
Contains an Advanced Deicer That Disperses Water in Diesel Fuel
Excellent for Use with Diesel Fuel, Home Heating Oil and Kersosene
AMSOIL Cold Flow Diesel Anti-Gel Fuel Additive with Deicer (Product Code: ACF) improves the flow of diesel fuel in cold weather. It prevents diesel fuel gelling and disperses water to control ice formation. Diesel fuels contain waxes leftover from the refining process. These waxes gel in cold temperatures and plug fuel filters and injectors, keeping fuel from reaching the engine. AMSOIL Cold Flow Diesel Anti-Gel Fuel Additive prevents wax crystal formation, keeping the wax small enough to flow through the fuel system to the engine and improving diesel engine reliability in cold weather. The cold filter plugging point (CFPP) is a standardized industry test that gauges the quality of cold flow additives; it is the point at which wax crystals clog the fuel filter. AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow lowers the CFPP of diesel fuel by as much as 20°F (15°C) in ULSD.
AMSOIL Cold Flow Diesel Anti-Gel Fuel Additive also contains a jet-fuel-type deicer that disperses water to prevent ice crystal formation throughout the fuel system, offering protection against water commonly found in diesel fuels.
AMSOIL Cold Flow Diesel Anti-Gel Fuel Additive with Deicer is formulated for a broad range of diesel fuels, including number 1 diesel fuel, number 2 diesel fuel, biodiesel and ultra low sulfur diesel fuel (ULSD). AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow minimizes the need for blending standard number 2 diesel fuel with lower quality number 1 diesel fuel, for better fuel economy and diesel performance.
AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow can be used in any diesel engine and is recommended for use in all types of heavy- and light-duty, on- and off-road and marine diesel engines. It is also excellent for use with home heating oil and kerosene heat systems.

What is #1 Diesel Fuel?
One traditional solution to diesel engine cold weather problems is the use of number 1 diesel fuel, which is diesel fuel diluted with kerosene. While number 1 diesel fuel has an advantage in low temperature operability, it has several disadvantages. The energy content of number 1 diesel fuel is about 95 percent of that of number 2 diesel fuel, resulting in reduced fuel economy and less horsepower. In addition, the kerosene used in number 1 diesel fuel provides less lubrication for the fuel pump and fuel distributor, increasing the likelihood for wear on these critical components.
Reduces Need for #1 Diesel Fuel For Better Fuel Economy
AMSOIL Cold Flow Diesel Anti-Gel Fuel Additive with Deicer minimizes the need for blending standard number 2 diesel fuel with lower-quality number 1 diesel fuel for better fuel economy and diesel performance.
Cold Weather and Diesel Fuel
As the temperature drops, the wax naturally found in diesel fuel begins to form crystals. The point at which wax crystals form is known as the cloud point. These wax crystals eventually clog the fuel filter and starve the engine of fuel, preventing it from starting. While low quality diesel fuels may form wax crystals in temperatures as warm as 40°F (4°C), most diesel fuels have a cloud point near 32°F (0°C). The point at which the wax crystals clog the fuel filter is known as the cold filter plugging point (CFPP). The CFPP is a standardized industry test that determines the lowest temperature at which a given volume of fuel flows through a standardized filter (45 micron wire screen) in a specified period of time (60 seconds).
Diesel Pour Point, Cloud Point and CFPP
There are several areas of diesel fuel improvement touted by various cold flow additive manufacturers, including pour point, cloud point and cold filter plugging point (CFPP). Claims can be misleading, so it is important to understand this terminology in order to determine which products truly provide superior performance.
It is important to distinguish between CFPP and pour point. The pour point is the lowest temperature a fuel will flow. Many competitive products make great claims regarding pour point, leading consumers to believe their products are superior when they actually have an inferior CFPP. Once fuel surpasses its cloud point, the wax crystals begin to clog the fuel filter. The CFPP temperature is a more important characteristic than pour point because the engine will not run if fuel cannot pass through the fuel filter.
Disperses Water in Diesel Fuel to Control Ice Formation
AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow uses a jet-fuel-type deicer that disperses water to control ice formation throughout the fuel system, offering protection against water commonly found in diesel fuels. It inhibits wax crystal formation, allowing fuel to flow to the engine more easily and improving diesel engine reliability in cold weather. In addition, AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow lowers the CFPP (cold filter plugging point) by as much as 20°F (15°C) in ULSD.

AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow prevents diesel fuel gelling by improving diesel cold-flow ability.
AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow improves diesel reliability and reduces downtime from cold temperature fuel system failures.
Formulated for a Broad Range of Diesel Fuels
AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow is formulated for a broad range of diesel fuels, including number 1 diesel, number 2 diesel, biodiesel and ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuels.
Home Heating Oil Additive
AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow is excellent for use with home heating oil and kerosene heat systems; it reduces filter and flow problems common with cold temperature heating oil storage.
AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow (ACF) is excellent for use with diesel fuels, heating oils and kerosene. It can be used in any diesel engine and is recommended for use in all types of heavy- and light-duty, on- and off-road and marine diesel engines.
One 16-ounce bottle of AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow treats 40 gallons of fuel. Using the fuel mix ratio in the chart below, add the appropriate amount of AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow before filling the tank.
AMSOIL Cold Flow Diesel Anti-Gel Fuel Additive with Deicer must be added at temperatures above the diesel fuel cloud point (the temperature at which wax begins to crystallize). It will not reverse gel or wax crystals once formed. Do not store at temperatures below 0ºF (-18ºC). Freezing will not harm AMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow and it can be used once it is thawed. If product freezes, rewarm and shake thoroughly to restore normal functionality. When diesel fuel has surpassed its cloud point, AMSOIL Diesel Recovery Emergency Fuel Treatment can quickly dissolve the wax crystals. It liquefies gelled diesel fuel and thaws frozen fuel filters to fix the problem and avoid costly towing charges.
