A Highly Effective Rust Preventative Designed to Protect Internal Engine Parts During Storage
Prevents Engine Dry Start Damage
Ideal for Winterizing and Summerizing Vehicles and Equipment

AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil Spray’s (Product Code: FOG) superior film retention provides long-term protection against rust, corrosion and dry start engine damage during storage or long periods of inactivity. A highly effective rust preventative, it keeps pistons, rings, valves and cylinder walls corrosion free. Long periods of storage can also dry out cylinders; AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil prevents permanent damage to the engine when the vehicle is taken out of storage and the engine is dry started. Use AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil Spray before winterizing and summerizing vehicles and equipment, for longer engine life and to reduce maintenance costs.
AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil Spray is ideal for outboard motors, motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs, motor homes, lawn and garden equipment, generators, construction and farm equipment, or any equipment with a 2- or 4-stroke engine. AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil’s spray formulation offers easy and clean applications, reaching more components and offering better distribution than straight motor oil.

Engine Condensation
Two- and four-stroke recreational vehicles, hand-held power equipment, small engines, construction and farm equipment are commonly operated seasonally or infrequently, then put in storage for long periods of time. During these periods of inactivity, and as a result of fluctuations in ambient temperatures, water vapor can form condensation within the engine. When this condensation comes into direct contact with steel and iron components, it forms surface corrosion on cylinder liners, piston rings, anti-friction bearings and steel/iron contact surfaces on rotational seals.
Engine Dry Starts
Long periods of storage can also dry out cylinders, often resulting in permanent damage when the equipment is taken out of storage and the engine is dry started.
Vehicle Storage Tip
Most 2- and 4-stroke motor oils are formulated to have an affinity to engine component surfaces, acting as a barrier that keeps condensation from contacting engine components and forming corrosion. However, the effectiveness of motor oil in this area diminishes with time. During equipment and vehicle storage, AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil offers superior film retention, providing long-term protection against corrosion and engine dry starts, for longer engine life and reducing maintenance costs.
Summerize and Winterize Your Vehicles
AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil is ideal for summerizing and winterizing vehicles and equipment. For use in all 2- and 4-stroke engines. Applications include, but are not limited to, motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs, boats, outboard motors, stern drive and inboard marine engines, personal watercraft, lawn equipment, chain saws, snowblowers, portable generators, hand-held power equipment, motor scooters, powered farm equipment, powered construction equipment, cars and trucks.
Spray Formulation Ensures Complete Distribution
AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil’s aerosol spray formulation offers easy and clean applications, while reaching more components and offering complete distribution of the fogging oil, something especially beneficial in applications with horizontal cylinder orientation, such as outboard motors.
How to Fog an Engine with AMSOIL Fogging Oil
The amount of time AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil should be sprayed differs from engine to engine. First, check the owners manual for the piece of equipment for proper storage and maintenance procedures. If not available, follow the directions below:
- Remove engine air filter or air intake housing and start engine.
- With engine running at a fast idle, spray AMSOIL Fogging Oil continuously into carburetor(s) until presence of smoke from exhaust.
- Turn off engine.
- Remove spark plug(s) and spray liberally into each spark plug hole.
- Slowly turn engine over several times either by hand, rewind or electric starter.
- Replace spark plug(s) and air filter or air intake housing.
Note: It is common for the engine to stall if not under high enough RPM. If the engine stalls prior to producing white exhaust smoke, restart the engine and rev it to a higher RPM, just enough to keep the engine running while spraying AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil.
